The JSCHN is a professional association founded for the purpose of developing and advancing research, practice and education associated with child health or pediatric nursing science. We also purse child health promotion by putting into practice accomplishments gained through these academic enterprises.

To fulfill its mission, the JSCHN has been undertaking the following academic enterprises:
[1] Annual Conference: to foster interaction and communication among scholars interested in the scientific study of child health nursing, focusing upon clinical research concerning child welfare and diseases
[2] Bulletin: a online-journal to share with many scholarly developments and information of the discipline
[3] News Letter: biannual correspondence as a medium for information exchange with the public and the broader scientific community about the study of child health nursing
[4] Local conferences: to provide opportunities to share up-to-date or the- state-of the- art information on child healthcare and medical treatment as an affiliated organization of Sukoyaka Family 21
[5] Research grant programs for clinical nurses and research encouragement award system
[6] Environmental development for child health nursing: for the maintenance and development of high standards of child medical treatment
[7] Collecting data in preparation for biennial revision of medical remunerations: data collection for the sake of rating the skills in child health nursing
[8] Tackling ethical problems with child health nursing: special measures are being taken for the protection of children's rights
[9] Making a governmental appeal for solving a number of problems in the area of child health nursing
[10] Collaborating with Asia Pacific Pediatric Nurses Association (APPNA) as a member and providing information about international conferences
